One month away from a year old. HOW CAN THAT BE?! There are days when I feel like he was itty bitty just yesterday and can remember it so well, and others feel like it was an eternity ago. When I see little Brayden it brings back so many memories and makes me realize how quickly I forget all of that stuff. Everyone warns you, but can never prepare you. My brain is on overload every single day, remembering simple tasks and things just isn’t in the cards anymore. Mommy brain is real people. Like, for real. I used to could tell you where I was at 3PM last tuesday and what I ate that day, where I placed a piece a paper a month ago. No chance. Finding my phone every 30 minutes is a chore, remembering if I actually ate this morning. Have I already talked about this in a previous post? I have no clue. But every single day watching Cooper grown and learn new things is the most fulfilling thing ever. He is so smart, strong-willed, and thinks he runs the show. Which he probably does. He is now pretty much walking – he will take several steps before falling or deciding to crawl. I guess it won’t be too much longer before he decides to walk everywhere! He loves reading books and will bring you the one he wants and then sit in your lap to read it. He knows exactly what you’re saying when you tell him to do things and get things. He was really picky the last month or so with table food. Wasn’t eating all the normal things he used to anymore, couldn’t get him to eat hardly anything! And then all of a sudden about 2 weeks ago his appetite changed and now he eats like a champ. Chicken and mandarin oranges are his go-to food right now! He loves eggs and bananas now, still loves fried rice, doesn’t like mashed potatoes for some reason. Doesn’t eat sweet potatoes like he used to either. I’m writing this post a week late, so about a week after he turned 11 months I dropped one of his 4 bottles so we are now down to three 7 oz bottles a day. Morning, midday and night time. He’s getting 2 oz of whole milk to 5 oz of breastmilk in each bottle and has done really well with that the last month. I’m having to use lactose free milk as the regular was giving him really bad gas. I’m down to 5 pumping sessions a day, and now with a bottle being dropped I’m producing way more than he needs right now. I will be done when he turns a year! Then will get him fully on whole milk. It’s so much fun planning his first birthday! I understand what people mean by how overwhelming it is because you want to do everything you can and you want it to be perfect. I am ordering a special cake, because I have to. 😀 No he won’t care one bit, but I will and the pictures will, so that’s all that matters. The next couple weeks we are going to be all over the place. Heading to Cleveland this weekend, come back Sunday for family pictures, then head out that night for Tampa to look at houses all week, and then back next weekend to Athens for Bubba’s cousin’s wedding. Poor little Cooper, but he will adjust! Can’t stress about the small stuff. He does really well in hotels though surprisingly. We stayed in Birmingham all last week with Bubba while he was working there, and while he got cabin fever in the room some, he slept great, took naps still, I was surprised. We went shopping a lot just to get out. So here’s hoping the next few weeks go smoothly! And by that time it’ll almost be his first birthday. Makes me so sad! I cannot believe it is already here.
