How can he be 8 months old… I always start off these posts with a tear in my eye because he’s growing up so fast and I don’t realize it until I sit down to read my previous one and write a new one. So much has happened in the last month it’s crazy how fast he picks up on things. He is now crawling full on, no more army crawling. He can sit up from laying down, pull up on everything, and starting to cruise the furniture a little bit. Every day he gains a little more confidence. We had to move his mattress down to the lowest setting once he started standing up in his crib. He is definitely a handful now – you can’t take your eyes off of him for 2 seconds! Which means my procrastination in the playroom is really driving me crazy. It’s not so much procrastination as it is finding the time to purge everything in it and get it ready. UGH. TIME. I never valued time so much as I do now. Trying to cram as much into his hour and a half nap as possible – and if I have a multitude of Etsy orders (which I usually do) I have to try and get as many done in that short period of time as possible, which leaves no time for anything else. So he has recently started a food strike against anything but yogurt. He used to eat anything I would give him and in the last 2 weeks I have wasted so much baby food. He pitches a FIT, and as soon as he sees that yogurt he opens up wide like a baby bird and you can’t feed him fast enough. It may have something to do with teething, he’s been pretty irritable lately. He is still drinking 4 7oz bottles a day. My supply, however, has dropped drastically. Like in half. I’m now only getting maybe 21-22 ounces a day, compared to 35-40 I was getting. I knew that knocking out a pumping session would decrease it some, but geez. I’m not even making enough to cover one day’s worth. So obviously I’m not freezing any to add to my stash, and I’m having to dig into it every now and then. I added back a pumping session and now pumping 6 times a day, which includes his 4 during day and one at 5am and one around 11 or 12. ugh. I really enjoyed sleeping that 6-7 hour stretch for a couple weeks there! I’m just trying to get to a year! Or at least to a point where I can start adding some whole milk. We’ll see. So we’ve been busy this month, Cooper and I went up to Cleveland for Father’s Day to spend the day with my Dad and family. Got to visit with some wonderful family friends as well, my Godmother and her family! We drove back late that night once Cooper was ready for bed so that he’d sleep the whole way home, seems to be the best time to drive, especially when I’m by myself. Which sucks because I hate driving at night. But we came home and enjoyed Father’s Day with Bubba for his first official one. We gave him a personalized book about Cooper and Daddy and I had a little photoshoot with him spelling out “DAD”.  Then last weekend I took a road trip to Cleveland, and then Lindsey & Mac (15 months old) and us drove to Charlotte to visit Sam & Brandon! We had so much fun and just enjoyed being able to “relax” with nothing else going on or racing around during nap times, etc. Sam took us into downtown Charlotte to a children’s museum that had all kinds of interactive gadgets which entertained them for awhile. We then went to a little market called Pasta Provisional where they have all this homemade fresh pasta you can buy by the pounds, or frozen ravioli and sauces, etc etc etc…. OMG. We got the goat cheese ravioli, rosemary garlic angel hair spaghetti and some meatballs and took it home and cooked it. Amazing. (Sam I’m hooked! haha) I got a convertible carseat before I went thinking he might be a bit more comfortable in it. Didn’t seem to make much of a difference, but not sure that any baby is going to enjoy a long car ride. We leave Saturday for a week long Beach trip! Is it bad that I’m more anxious than excited? I’m really excited, but you just can’t relax with a baby….at the beach…. and my milk supply really has be frazzled, and trying to make sure I have enough milk to take with me since I can’t really travel with the frozen milk…. I’m excited though to finally be going on a real vacation longer than a couple days. I don’t think I’ve ever been to the beach that long in my life. 😀 Hopefully Cooper will enjoy it!

Likes: Crawling everywhere, getting into everything. Pulling up on everything. Playing with his bowl and blocks, putting them in and out and banging them on the floor. His wubbanub – he’s obsessed. And it’s not just the Paci, the elephant is his lovie, and he has to hold it and rub it on his face to sleep. It’s tearing off, and I already have a replacement for when it’s done. YOGURT. Yogurt melts, anything yogurt. When his Daddy gets home – he wants no more Mommy. The cats. Still loves them.

Dislikes: When you leave the room and leave him alone. Having diaper changed. Being tired. Not getting what he wants! Yeah none of this has really changed.

THINGS HE CAN DO: Crawl, sit up from laying down, pull up on everything and cruise furniture a little bit. He can eat yogurt melts (full ones) and feed himself. He drinks water from a sippy cup. He gives kisses when you ask for them (not all the time, but sometimes haha)

SIZE: Size 3 diapers – 6-9 month clothes. I’m about to have to replace all his 6 month sleepers to 9 months because they are too tight.
