7 months – I feel like at this point he will be a year old before I know it. He all of a sudden seems like a little boy to us now! He’s no longer this fragile little baby (yes he is) and he’s becoming so much fun. He’s entertaining himself, scooting all over the place, can definitely get where he wants to go now. Not 100% crawling, although he has the leg motion down and like 1 arm, but for now he knows he can scoot on his belly and that works. He can army crawl with the best of them. And he’s fast at it. He can pull up from sitting while holding your hands, but doesn’t have any balance on his own yet. Although, today, I walked out of the room for like 30 seconds and when I came back he was standing up next to his activity table…. have no clue how he did it, and he couldn’t figure out how to get down. Let’s just say it wasn’t very smooth, haha. And then during his nap TODAY, he woke up and was playing in his crib for a little while and I looked at the monitor and he was sitting up! Not sure how he managed to do that either, but he did. I guess he decided at 7 months he needed more milestones. He’s eating stage 2 foods now. Will pretty much eat whatever I give him except peas… he does not like anything with peas. I started giving him little yogurt bites and puffs to help him learn how to pick up and feed himself, and after about 2 weeks he finally gets the hang of it. He struggles but gets the idea, haha. He loves the yogurt bites. And he loves yogurt! He’s eating a 4oz fruit in the morning, a 2.5 or 3.5 oz jar at lunch and a 4oz veggie at dinner. He has now, all in his own timing, dwindled down to 4 total bottles for the day. He started going a little longer between them so he eliminated the evening one that was so close to bed time that always caused a problem. AND…. (drumroll)……. just last week he started sleeping until 7/7:30 AM! Which means he no longer wakes up at 5/6 am for a bottle! So all in like 2 weeks he went from 6 to 4 bottles. I of course have kept the ounces about the same for the day, but he doesn’t always drink it all. He’s averaging about 28 ounces a day. I finally counted all of my frozen milk and to my surprise it was only about 2-3 weeks worth. But I’ve organized it all into ziplock bags by total ounces and every few days give him the frozen milk for the day. Still slowly building the stash a little bit since I’m producing more than he eats, but now that he’s only eating 4 times a day I’m only pumping 5 times a day instead of 6 or 7, so I went from getting about 38-40 ounces a day to now it’s about 30-35… I’ve just come to the realization that I won’t get to stop pumping early. But that’s ok! 🙂 Things are so much easier now than they used to be with him eating further apart. I feel like I can finally leave the house for extended periods of time, actually go places. Whereas before, having to pump or feed every 2.5/3 hours was so stressful trying to go anywhere. So the beach trip was fun! He (unfortunately) loved the sand! His Daddy buried him in it against my will. He only lasted at the beach about an hour and a half before nap time and then we didn’t go back out again. We tried the pool but it was too cold for anybody. So maybe next time. I’m still holding on hope for a pool baby haha. We go back to the beach in July for a whole week so he will have more time to enjoy it. His days consist of scooting around the living room floor with all his blocks and balls. I have a wooden spoon and a bowl that he puts stuff in. He hasn’t been using his jumperoo much lately. He’s been playing in his big piano seat. I guess because it moves around and doesn’t sit stationary. My next goal is to make the upstairs room an actual playroom with all his toys up there. That’s what my intentions were when I moved my office out of there, but I figured it would be awhile before I needed to do it. I mean, that was a year and half ago haha. It’s covered up in all my printers and book making materials and an elliptical machine that never gets used. One day. And big news in the past week – TWO BOTTOM TEETH! I’ve been waiting on one of them to come in forever, I felt like I could see it and I could feel it a tiny bit, and then last Thursday while feeding him his breakfast, the spoon caught the ridge of it and I felt it for the first time! And sure enough, once I was able to get a good look, both were coming in at the same time! He’s been chewing on everything, drooling like crazy… but he won’t use any of the teething things I give him… He hasn’t been waking up during the night (knock on wood), we’ve been giving him Tylenol before bed just in case for some time now. Hoping the rest of the teeth come this smoothly! haha… One can hope I guess.

Likes: Jumping, playing in his piano seat, scooting around the living room banging blocks together and on floor, TAGS, he loves tags and finds them on everything, the cats, he is fascinated with the cats and wants to just grab them. All food I give him except anything with peas. Loves yogurt and yogurt bites. Loves Mickey Mouse. Will search for the TV when he hears him and just stares at him and talks to him.

Dislikes: When you leave the room and leave him alone. Having diaper changed. Being tired. Not getting what he wants!

THINGS HE CAN DO: Army crawl like a champ, and scoot all over getting where he wants to go. Play independently for a short time.  Eat small bites of yogurt bites and puffs. Can pick them up and feed himself, although it doesn’t always make it in his mouth. And apparently today he can pull up on something on his own and sit up from his tummy.

SIZE: He is still in size 3 diapers. Pretty much wearing 6-9 month clothes. 9 month clothes are a bit big on him still, except Polo stuff because they run small. His pants however, some are still 3-6 months.
