Ugh – I can’t believe he’s 1.5!!! I remember this time last year I was all sad because he was getting closer to his first birthday, and here we are 6 months away from his SECOND! He is learning so much right now and catching on so fast to everything. He can pretty much repeat anything you ask him to say. Yesterday, he put 2 words together for the first time while asking for “more ham” Clear as day, “More Ham!” haha so that was new. He will finish your sentence when singing a song… “Mary had a little…. LAMB!” “Twinkle Twinkle Little……STAR!” “1, 2, buckle my SHOE, 3, 4, shut the DOOR, 5, 6, pick up STICKS, 7, 8 lay them STRAIGHT, 9, 10 a big fat HEN!” and so much more! He says the letter A and B and sometimes C when he sees them. But most of the time everything is “B”! His favorite word is “no….” he says it in response to everything. He can do the hokey pokey, and all the motions to wheels on the bus and happy and you know it. He shows his muscles when we ask him to. He LOVES reading books! We still take walks every day in the wagon to the park around the neighborhood. He knows the roads and the way to get there. You can’t trick him. He’s obsessed with Elmo right now. We were watching Mother Goose Club, Dave & Ava, Little Baby Bum on repeat, and then all of a sudden he wants Elmo’s World every time now. So that’s what we watch at home and in the car! He loves cars/big trucks. Says “Beep Beep!” when he sees them. Grandma & Grandpa taught him how to do the Pledge of Allegiance when he sees a flag, so he runs and puts both of his hands over his heart! He’s still taking one nap a day, usually 1.5-3 hours. Wakes up around 8/8:30 and to bed about 8/8:30. He won’t eat any meat except ham right now, and only a certain kind of baked ham. He loves fruit, cheese sometimes, pancakes, pouches, snack bars, vanilla wafers, goldfish and his cheese puffs.

We’ve going to Toddler time at the library a lot – he loves it. Some days he’s all into it and others he won’t leave my lap. But it’s fun! He had his first actual haircut :-/ It was getting out of hand though with no curls in sight so we had to get it cut! He did amazingly well! After the first time I was nervous to take him again but he just sat there!  We went to the Strawberry Festival with GG in March, ate LOTS of strawberries, rode the carousel, and tea cups, he had so much fun! We celebrated Easter in April. He wasn’t too sure about the Easter Bunny, he got real nervous around him and didn’t want to sit in his lap very long. He has two egg hunts. We had one in our neighborhood with tons of kids and he LOVED it. They were only allowed 12 eggs, so we had to keep taking eggs out as he put them in, he was running around grabbing them like crazy. I wasn’t too sure if he would know what to do at the egg hunt but he knew exactly what to do. It was hilarious. Then we had one at GG & Poppy’s with all the cousins and he had so much fun! He We went to Disney World for the first time back in April! Gina and the kids came down for spring break and we took a day and went. Left at 6am, got home at 1am. It was a LONG day, and Cooper did SO good. He took a couple cat naps in the stroller and loved all of the rides and seeing everything. I can’t wait to take him back again! He’s gotten to play with his buddy Mac a couple times! They crack me up. They are going to be a mess together when they get older! And we got to see baby Brayden the last time we were in town. He’s gotten so big! Cooper loves him! We went to the zoo in Tampa with Grandma and Grandpa a couple weeks ago and Cooper had so much fun. It didn’t compare to the Atlanta Zoo so we may have to plan on him visiting that one some day! We also went to a Tampa Bay Rays vs. Braves game last week and Cooper loved it. Despite being out way past his bedtime he always adjusts so well. He had plenty of snacks to keep him occupied and a few walks around the park and he was good. We also just started looking at getting him started in a school here, we toured the Goddard School today and loved it, and looking at a couple others and hopefully will get him started in the next couple months! I’m anxious to get him involved in that setting but I’m also not sure I’m ready to give up our little routine! But he is going to love it so I’m excited.

He went to his follow up Eye Doctor appointment in April and after 2 months of wearing glasses, the amount that his eye was turning in had improved by over half of what it was to begin with! So that was great news. But with that comes wearing a patch every day on the good eye to help improve bad one. Doctor told us at least an hour a day and in 2 months they will see how he’s doing, but more than likely he will need to do some sort of patching until he’s about 9 years old. At that point it may only be 30 min a week or something, but at that age is when your eye is developed. So I was all nervous again about getting him to wear the patch, and having so much anxiety over it, and after about 2 days (once we finally got some that would stick), he wears it all day! Usually about 6-7 hours a day. He does so well, I’m so proud of him and he doesn’t even realize it. You would never know he was only using one eye all day, he still runs around like it’s nothing. So we go back in June to see how he’s doing with that!
